The original George Washington Monument built in 1827.

Behind the monument there is a nice area to sit and enjoy the view
off the mountain side.

The monument is accessible by a stairway that leads to the top for an even better view.

This Correspondence Memorial built in 1896 pays tributer to those who wrote about and documented the civil war.

Here we are in Union Station in Washington D.C.

The sun was in the perfect spot for me to take this photo of the Washington Monument.

Of course we had to see the Capital Building.
